Chair, Executive Group
Julia Moore is a consultant
anaesthetist on Merseyside, with a long standing interest in health service
management in general, and in change management in particular. She has
been on half-time secondment to the Department of Health since 1999, as
Senior Medical Officer for Strategic Medical Workforce Issues. In addition
to providing wide ranging policy advice, she has extensive experience in
NHS change management, and undertakes collaborative work with many NHS
stakeholders. She came to the Radiology ITI through her chairmanship of
the expansion and reformation of Histopathology training: developing a
new curriculum and a national network of training schools to train more
histopathologists. She generated DH support to fund the ITI and continues
to drive this very complex project forward at many levels.

National Clinical Lead for Diagnostic Imaging
As head of the Radiology
Academy project in Norwich from 2002-2004 Erika developed the complex infrastructure
for this important new training facility. Her role in the Integrated Training
Initiative also includes being editor of the breast modules of the e-learning
component of the project. She is a general radiologist in Norwich with
a specific interest in Breast Imaging. She is the current vice chair and
next chairman of the Royal College of Radiologists Breast Group. In January
2005 Erika was appointed as National Clinical Lead for Diagnostic Imaging.

Shelley is Deputy Dean Director
of Postgraduate Medicine in London, and is leading on the implementation
of Modernising Medical Careers in London. She recently joined MMC to work
on the operational framework for the foundation programme. Shelley trained
as a medical microbiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical
School. As a Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant at Barts and the Homerton
in Microbiology, she developed managerial and educational interests which
resulted in her being appointed Chief Executive of the Homerton Hospital
in the east end of London. She became Dean of Postgraduate Medicine, initially
for North Central London, and then for the London Deanery. Professor Heard
is also the Lead Postgraduate Dean for the Pathology specialties and for
Radiology.

Executive Group
Professor Husband is President
of the Royal College of Radiologists (2004 to 2007) and head of the Academic
Department of Radiology at the Royal Marsden Hospital as well as being
Medical Director at the Royal Marsden. Professor Husband has undertaken
pioneering work in cross sectional imaging in cancer, initially in computer
tomography and later in magnetic resonance imaging. She is immediate past
President of the British Institute of Radiology and co-founder and first
President of the International CAT Imaging Society.

Assistant Director of Finance
David joined the NHS in June
2002, initially working within Avon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire WDC
undertaking various regional projects and then moving to Devon and Cornwall
in December 2002.
David is now the Assistant Director of Finance for the South West Peninsula
Strategic Health Authority that is hosting the financial management of
the ITI project funding from Department of Health.
He is responsible for the financial management of the multi-professional
education and training levy to the South West Peninsula (formerly Devon
and Cornwall Workforce Development Confederation). In 2004-2005 the funding
to support education and learning across the SW Peninsula is ££92m.
He was appointed to the ITI Executive group in October 2004 and has developed
the financial framework to manage the overall project funding involving
the three new Radiology Academies, Curriculum Content and Validated Case
Archive workstreams.

Lay member
Donald spent his career in the Aerospace Industry serving many years firstly
as Engineering Director which for a period incorporated the role of Quality
Director and in later years Project Director. Since retirement he has been
a lay member on the Clinical Radiology Patient Liaison Group of the RCR
and is now the Lay Member on the Council of the RCR.

Carol has a clinical background in nursing and specialised in operating
theatre care and trauma. She managed a theatre suite and was senior
nurse with responsibility for education, training and staff development.
Carol led the national development programme that introduced operating
department practitioners (ODP) into theatres. This included the creation
of a career, education and state regulation framework. She also introduced
strategic workforce planning into a local NHS trust (Dewsbury) and as a
result was asked to work at regional and national level on workforce planning
education and training.
Carol developed and managed the first NHS Workforce Development Confederation
in England. She was responsible for £53m education contracts with
universities and colleges. Carol managed the transfer of £65m clinical
education from DfES to DH. She developed and introduced the tiered skill
mix model in radiography (breast screening, diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy
services).
Carol is DH sponsor for the development and introduction of radiology
academies in England. Carol is currently Policy and Implementation Manager
for Diagnostic Imaging and Deputy head Diagnostic Services Branch.
